 What Does the PFA Do?

The Franklin Parent Faculty Association (PFA) is an organization staffed entirely by volunteers whose primary mission is to provide opportunities for our students and support for our wonderful Franklin Parent, Faculty & Staff. The PFA funds, subsidizes, or provides volunteer coordination for many activities and events at Franklin.

Here are just a few that occurred during the last school year...

  • Sponsored over 40 programs, events and fundraisers.
  • Provided back-office support and managed registration and advertising for After-School programs.
  • Purchased supplies for Field Day.
  • Rented ten inflatables for the Franklin FIERCE Fest.
  • Awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a North Allegheny senior who attended Franklin Elementary.
  • Purchased recess supplies for all students' use.
  • Sponsored three school-wide assemblies.
  • Coordinated and provided volunteers for three class parties.
  • Sponsored and managed the Community Service Bingo Night.

The PFA coordinates and/or provides volunteers for the following programs:

*After School Programs

*Back to School Night

*Breakfast Buddies
*Franklin Mart
*Holiday Shoppe

*Staff Appreciation
*Summer Playground Meetups

PFA volunteers also take pictures, design and edit the entire yearbook, as well as coordinate sales and distribution.

Just a friendly reminder, the PFA is a volunteer-led organization with most of the activities listed above being 100 percent funded by the PFA. There are others that we subsidize a portion of the costs such as the 5th grade picnic. And there are those such as After School Programs that you fund through your participation, but the PFA still coordinates the registration process.

We hope you will join the PFA by paying your activity fee. Once you have paid the activity fee you will also have access to the online directory.
